Student of the Month

IMG_4805

Congratulations to Vangi for being my December student of the month!

Vangi has worked hard and earned a lesson rating of 5 each and every week this month. She follows her assignment exactly, always works ahead, and is a model student. She is practicing her competition pieces and learned several Christmas pieces not only for the recital, but for her CD and she performed several times over the holiday season, sharing her gift with everyone. She is on the competition team, attends rep class and works hard to be sure she is practiced and ready for class. She is an encourager to other students and always has a positive attitude in lessons. She is a pleasure to teach and has earned this award.

Vangi will have her photo on the wall of fame for the rest of the year and she will also receive a $10 Music & Arts gift card to spend on fun music or anything else she wants.

Want to be student of the Month? Here is what you have to do-

  • Have a lesson rating of 5 for each week of the month
  • Have perfect attendance for the month
  • Have an encouraging spirit toward other students
  • Have a positive attitude in lessons

What Gift Can We Give?

Image
Christmas isn’t warm and fuzzy for everyone.
Allison, Annabelle, and I were able to give back our gift of music today for some who will be celebrating their last Christmas. Here is Annabelle after sharing 30 minutes of her music at a critical care hospice unit today on Christmas eve. The patients were unable to see us, but they could hear.
When she finished, we played some Christmas duets together.

The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
Matthew 25:40

Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.

Congratulations Claire!

Claire was the first to complete her Fall Book Bash Card!

Claire was the first to complete her Fall Book Bash Card!

Fall Book Bash began this past fall. All students participating received a card in which I punched a hole in each leaf as they mastered a lesson book assignment and picked a book bash card that contained some crazy new instructions for that piece.

Claire did a great job on her lesson book songs and really did some crazy things to her songs with the Fall Book Bash Cards…including turning her music upside down and playing, replacing all the C’s with F’s, and performing the first line largo and the second line vivace! Great job Claire…..now she has STUDENT CHOICE.

Claire decided to have a game day next week for her lesson. Claire is pretty smart!
