October Student of the Month

IMG_8012Congratulations to Delaney, October Student of the Month. Delaney has been doing a superior job in lessons and has worked hard to receive a perfect lesson rating with 5+1 every week!

Delaney has some pretty difficult pieces, too. She memorized the “Potter Waltz” from the Harry Potter Movie and will be performing it at the Westfield Annapolis Mall “Melodies at the Movies event on November 15. She also learned the Toccata in D minor on the organ for our Halloween Party.

Currently, she is working on Debussy’s “The Snow is Dancing” from the Children’s Corner Suite and Tchaikovsky’s “Overture” from the Nutcracker Suite for our Christmas Recital in December. And that’s not all, she will also be accompanying the Chesapeake Bay Middle School chorus at their upcoming Winter Recital and the Anne Arundel County Festival Chorus Adjudications in the Spring.

She is a hard working professional pianist and really deserves this honor!

Delaney is in 7th grade this year and is working on her 5th year in piano lessons with me. When Delaney isn’t playing piano, she participates in Competitive Irish Step Dance, school chorus, and drama.

Delaney will have her photo on the wall of fame for the rest of the year and she will also receive a $10 Music & Arts gift card to spend on fun music or anything else she wants.

Want to be student of the Month? Here is what you have to do:

Have a lesson rating of 5 for each week of the month.
Have perfect attendance for the month.
Have an encouraging spirit toward other students.
Have a positive attitude in lessons.

Congratulations, Delaney. You are learning something that will allow you to succeed in life that hard word pays off. It must be wonderful to be able to play all those pieces, and your dedication shows. Congratulations again.
